Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Senior General Ledger Support to join our team in the Washington, DC. area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyze and interpret financial data to detect trends and identify needed corrective measures and processes to improve accuraccy and utility of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts expereince
Analyze program trends/anomalies in accoutning system transactions
Analyze and assess current and historical financial data for the purpose of developing special reports for use in improving the efficiency, accuracy and usefulness of Financial Statements
Determine if accounting transactions are consistent with prescribed coding and that transactions are processed in accordance with US Standar General ledger definitions
Evaluate the current status of accournting and reporting systems in relations to the effect on General Ledger and subsidiary accounts
Reconcile and evaluate the content, accuracy and timeliness of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts
Prepare both internal and external financial statemetns and reports, in accordance with federal requirments and accounting standards to accurately reflect the activities and operations of the program
Bachelors in Accourting or related field such as Business Administration etc.
Experience in providing interpretations of accounting reports, statements and data which point out trends, estimates the effect of proposed changes in operation programs on income, expenditures, obligation and costs
Experience reviewing and resolving accounting discrepancies and using accounting information to recommend solutions to management
Knowledge of accounting theories, concepts, principles and practices of accounting and financial management
Knowledge of missions, functions, programs, goals, objective, work processes and sources of funding pertinent to accounting organizations
Ability to gather, assemble and analyze data to reconcile timely and accurate accounting reporting
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, Military/Civilian personnel and industry partners
Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision
Must be willing to travel within the organizational geographic AOR
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
An active Secret clearance with JAFAN eligibility is required.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and seven to nine years of related experience.
